Induction-cum-GPDP Training to PRI members

The elected representatives are change agents of the Rural Local Government. They are the most trusted persons in the rural community to infuse the messages related to various rural development initiatives, schemes and programmes. Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions and preparation of Gender Sensitive-Gram Panchayat Dev elopment Plan (GPDP) through participation and capacity building is identified as key strategy for rural development. So NSP initiated works towards capacity building of elected representatives (Sarapanches, PS members and Ward Members, etc.) so that they would be able to perform their functions efficiently. In the last year NSP organized 18 batches Induction-cum-GPDP in which a total 836 newly elected ward members covering Kanas, Bramhagiri and Tangi blocks participated and learned about various social welfare schemes and programs such as NREGA, SGSY, PMRY, SBM, JJM, Basudha, Samagra Sikshya (RTE), Gram Sabha, Palli Sabha, Special Gram Sabha, 73rd CAA, Role of WMs including other social welfare programs of the state and central Govt.
